From late 2016 through to early 2019, Rockhampton Regional Council undertook a $4.2M project to install a range of smart technologies and associated electrical and communications services on the Quay Street Riverfront parkland and CBD. The project was co-funded by the QLD State Government Building Our Regions grant funding.

Stanke Group, a local business, successfully tendered for the Riverfront and CBD Smart Technologies and subsequently installed and commissioned:

More than 2 Km fibre optic cabling and associated networking devices;
115 smart poles;
136 LED luminaires;
21 Wi-Fi access points;
40 smart CCTV cameras;
15 pole mounted digital banners;
3 ground mounted digital banners;
3 emergency call duress buttons; and
Associated electrical wiring and services

The Stanke Group team worked extremely well with Council’s project manager and project team to complete the project on time and within budget. Even more satisfying has been the Stanke Group team’s highly collaborative and cooperative approach and availability to assist with the technology maintenance and troubleshooting.
